Trade Beads Necklace

This bold necklace crosses time and cultures. Clusters of antique African trade beads hang from old Ostrich shells. None of these old beads are exactly alike even when made in named 18 century patterns. The yellow tabs are called Thunder and Lightning, others are
called Crossing the Road, and so forth. Some are antique Dutch, some rare polychrome. Silvered prayer beads are scattered among the trades,
and the beautiful focal bead, which inspired this necklace, is olive green and black with a sprinkle of silver, and is a contemporary jewel by Winterglass.  The spiral clasp #103 is an excellent compliment to this boldly stated 17” necklace.
